We welcome non-members and rooms are available for hire. It is our aim to provide whatever you need to make the function or event you are planning a success. We strive to provide value for money and be the best in the area at what we do.
Weddings, christenings, birthday parties, anniversary parties, fund-raising parties, Christmas parties, conferences, meetings - whatever your size of event, reception, or celebration, we will try to accommodate it. We have our own in house catering facilities and are able to provide first class hot or cold buffets. Rooms can be configured to whatever best suits your event. The rooms are also available to hire for classes or presentations.
Recently refurbished, this bar offers comfortable seating and access to the club’s wide range of beers, wines, spirits - and coffee if you prefer. Meals are served daily.
The Churchill Suite is our most popular function room and can comfortably accommodate up to 180 people for your function. It has a central dance floor with raised and floor-level seating surrounding it. The stage is large enough for a 6 piece band with full sound and lighting rig or a disco. The room is self-contained and is yours for the duration of your function.
It is also ideal for conferences or larger business meetings. The room can be configured to any style you want and is particularly suitable for theatre style presentations. There are raised areas which are ideal for break outs or refreshments.
The Wordsworth Room is situated on the first floor. It is a compact and intimate venue that looks out over Crown Square. The room can comfortably hold 60 people with a buffet. It has a central dance floor with alcove style seating around the walls. The dance floor can be fully carpeted if required. There is a corner stage area which has ample space for a 3 piece band or full disco. The room has a private bar and toilet facilities. The room can also be used for smaller business meetings, either using the alcove seating or set up in boardroom style for up to 20 delegates.

Details of hire costs can be obtained from the club and can be separately negotiated if necessary, depending on your function or event. Typically, costs are:

Current rules require the organisers of 18th/19th/20th/21st birthday parties to seek permission in writing of the general committee before the booking will be accepted. Hire by non-members will require a current member to guarantee the function who will then be responsible for the event.
Hourly rates are available for smaller meetings and classes.
The above prices are indicative for conference and meeting rooms. However, these prices are normally agreed separately, in addition to which a selection of buffets are available. Typically as follows:
Unlimited tea - coffee - biscuits. £3.00 all day.
Selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche and chips. £3.50 to £5.00 per person.
Choice of hot food. Lasagne, Hot Pot with Crust, Chicken/Vegetable Curry with rice and chips, Vegetable Lasagne. Chose any 3 at £7.50 per person.
All can be adapted to your requirements.
